We all face a new year. And, if you’re like me, you have great desires for the future. You want to live your life so that it counts. I came into my office early Monday morning, and I found myself filled with this desire to live the rest of my life so that it counts from an eternal perspective.

I’ve made so many poor choices in the past. And I have many regrets. I have sinned repeatedly. And I’m weary of sinning. Yet, I want to live the rest of my life in a manner that’s pleasing to the Lord, knowing that I’ll have to stand before Him one day and give an account (2 Corinthians 5:10).

As I look into the future, I have three words that describe the way I want to live out my remaining days:

  1. PASSION!
  2. PURITY!
  3. INTEGRITY!

But, here’s where the rubber meets the road. I’ve learned in my nearly 64 years, that without God, without His help, I have no chance of living my life by these words. None of us are capable of becoming better men, husbands, fathers, friends, coworkers, etc.

With that said, I have great hope that it will be possible because I believe in the One who lives within me — Jesus Christ!

LISTEN: If you want to live your life with purpose…if you want to live your life to please the One who created you…then it is possible, but only with God’s help.

1 John 4:4 states, “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them (evil in the world) because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Happy New Year!
