Fully Forgiven

“The blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin…If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:7, 9

Spurgeon writes, “Some imagine that a sense of pardon is an attainment only obtainable after many years of Christian experience. But forgiveness of sin is a present thing—a privilege for this day, a joy for this very hour. The moment a sinner trusts Jesus he is fully forgiven.”

Let this truth sink in. The moment a sinner trusts Jesus he is fully forgiven. Fully forgiven! And this doesn’t mean just some sins, but ALL sins. No matter how egregious your sins have been, are, or will be, they’re all forgiven in Christ. It’s in Christ that a man can have peace with God and experience peace in his soul. And there’s nothing like it!
